TREY GERRALD:

Chelsey girl, how's that week going?

CHELSEY DONN:

The week is going well.

CHELSEY DONN:

I went to a friend's house that had cats yesterday and I have like a delayed react, like people that have cats don't believe that I'm allergic to cats because I don't always have a reaction in the moment.

TREY GERRALD:

Oh.

CHELSEY DONN:

But like, by the time I get home that evening, I'm like, a mess,

TREY GERRALD:

I'm

CHELSEY DONN:

over Zyrtec

TREY GERRALD:

ing, just to

CHELSEY DONN:

try to get back to baseline, so, that's where I'm at.

TREY GERRALD:

What does it show up as, like, stuffy nose, or do you have like, hives and stuff?

CHELSEY DONN:

Stuffy nose, itchy eyes.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like, throat kind of, like, scratchy, phlegmy, just, not, like, anaphylactic, God forbid, like, I can't breathe, but, like, just, like, I'm uncomfortable, you know, like, the orifices from which I breathe are, like, we're annoyed with you, you know?

TREY GERRALD:

I think it is, like, actually, it's the dander that humans are allergic to, because, like, I think I have that thing with cats, too, because my sister has cats.

TREY GERRALD:

I always get, like, little, like, red hives.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, it's always right here on my hands, and I have to, like, overload on allergy medicine because Even

CHELSEY DONN:

when you, like, don't touch them, you still get the Well, yeah.

CHELSEY DONN:

I'm, like, so cautious.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like, I don't sit on fabric chair.

CHELSEY DONN:

If I'm sitting on a chair, it's a wood chair.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like, I'm very methodical about it.

CHELSEY DONN:

But even just whatever is in the air, I It gets, it gets to

TREY GERRALD:

the cats like come to you because you're so uninterested.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah.

CHELSEY DONN:

The cats are a big fan of mine.

CHELSEY DONN:

I, yeah, I get them all the time.

CHELSEY DONN:

And the thing is, I love animals.

CHELSEY DONN:

That's what sucks.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like I found out that I was allergic to cats because I was staying in a friend's house that had a cat and I was like, I want to play with your cat.

CHELSEY DONN:

And then, then I almost died.

CHELSEY DONN:

Cause I was like really in the cat's face.

CHELSEY DONN:

So it sucks.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like cats, like.

CHELSEY DONN:

Want to come to me because they think I'm playing hard to get.

CHELSEY DONN:

And I'm like, this isn't a game.

CHELSEY DONN:

This is life.

TREY GERRALD:

Anyway, so is that your complaint?

TREY GERRALD:

I don't know.

TREY GERRALD:

I guess that

CHELSEY DONN:

could be my complaint.

CHELSEY DONN:

Ledge a complaint.

CHELSEY DONN:

I'll let you talk about your week.

TREY GERRALD:

Well, I wasn't even going to mention this because I was like, should this be a complaint?

TREY GERRALD:

And then I was like, I don't know.

TREY GERRALD:

It's so I was editing an episode.

TREY GERRALD:

I'll go ahead and say that it's episode 48, I had gotten all the way to the very end when we had just concluded The Royal Highness, and my laptop, I keep it plugged in all the time because I work at an actual desk, so the minute it's unplugged, There's like a 12 minute shelf life before the battery just dies because I've destroyed it.

TREY GERRALD:

Well, it fell out and I was like, I don't, I'm too late.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, I just want to hurry.

TREY GERRALD:

You know, I was like, I bet I had forgotten we had a Royal Review that episode.

TREY GERRALD:

So I was like, I'm nearly done.

TREY GERRALD:

I'm just going to pound through this.

TREY GERRALD:

It'll be great.

TREY GERRALD:

And then of course I forgot and my computer literally died and I was like, Oh, Oh no.

TREY GERRALD:

I like was like, don't forget it's going to be like, it like auto saves.

TREY GERRALD:

It's going to be okay.

TREY GERRALD:

So then I plugged my computer back in and it was like, the dead kind where it was like a black screen and then there was like dash dash dash dash dash dash uploading and it fully uploaded i tried to open it and it was like this closed without being saved would you like to open from a snapshot and i was like yes and then it was like error opening 404 negative And I was like, what?

TREY GERRALD:

So then I was like, Googling, Okay, let me look at my time machine.

TREY GERRALD:

So I haven't backed up my computer since January.

TREY GERRALD:

So that wasn't going to help me.

TREY GERRALD:

And then I was like, Oh, okay.

TREY GERRALD:

So cutting to the chase.

TREY GERRALD:

I literally lost the entire episode and I had to start Completely from scratch, which was fine.

TREY GERRALD:

I love, I love spending that much time with our voices, Chelsey.

CHELSEY DONN:

I'm sure you do, Trey.

CHELSEY DONN:

But you know what?

TREY GERRALD:

Lesson learned the minute that, um, cord falls out, I can't be lazy.

TREY GERRALD:

Cause I'm going to pay for it in the end, which is usually how procrastination works anyway.

TREY GERRALD:

So, oh my

CHELSEY DONN:

God, I'm so sorry.

TREY GERRALD:

That was the high highlight of the pain of my week, which will also be my lodging of a complaint.

TREY GERRALD:

Oh, you guys just take the time and press save.

CHELSEY DONN:

Also, like, do your time, like, my time machine, I think, is on automatic.

CHELSEY DONN:

I hope it is.

CHELSEY DONN:

Oh, my gosh.

CHELSEY DONN:

I'm so sorry.

CHELSEY DONN:

Well, God bless you, Trey.

CHELSEY DONN:

I don't know.

CHELSEY DONN:

We would not have a show without you because Trey is so meticulous about editing every single episode.

CHELSEY DONN:

So thanks for doing it twice.

TREY GERRALD:

Well, everyone who loved our Mother's Day episode, just, just think back about how I had to go through that twice.

TREY GERRALD:

Oh, my God.

TREY GERRALD:

It's a pleasure to be podcasting with you and for you listeners.

TREY GERRALD:

So, Chelsey, in that energy, should we move into some online reviews?

TREY GERRALD:

Do you think you're ready?

CHELSEY DONN:

Oh, my God, so ready.

CHELSEY DONN:

Let's, let's do it.

CHELSEY DONN:

As you know, we are your trusty Review Queens.

CHELSEY DONN:

We each bring in a review from the internet that we feel needs to be inspected.

TREY GERRALD:

We read you the review, we break it down, and rate the impact of the review on a scale from 0 to 5 crowns.

TREY GERRALD:

This is a very regal process that we call Assess That Kvetch!

TREY GERRALD:

And Chelsey girl, the floor is all yours,

CHELSEY DONN:

Get ready to bend and snap, here we go,

CHELSEY DONN:

Review That Review.

VOICEOVER:

I just

TREY GERRALD:

wrote, I wrote in the script for Chelsey to say get ready for my bend and snap, but I didn't know that you would actually say it.

CHELSEY DONN:

I mean, it was in the script.

CHELSEY DONN:

Okay.

CHELSEY DONN:

All right.

CHELSEY DONN:

So, you know how much I love Yelp.

CHELSEY DONN:

So, I was, let's just say, doing some perusing, and I came across this review by James, because, you know, we love the name James in this podcast.

CHELSEY DONN:

James P., as in Paul.

CHELSEY DONN:

This is James one star review of a restaurant here in L.

CHELSEY DONN:

A., in Venice, actually, on Abbot Kinney, called Dubuena Planta, which I think means Like the good plant would be my guess for my four years of Spanish.

CHELSEY DONN:

This is a one star review of De Buena Planta.

TREY GERRALD:

Okay.

CHELSEY DONN:

I wanted to love the hell out of this plant based eatery.

CHELSEY DONN:

I was absolutely misled by their plant based claims.

CHELSEY DONN:

Plant based eateries are popping up all over and this place is masquerading as one, while really Being vegetarian, call it what it is, plant forward, eggs and lactose in the back.

CHELSEY DONN:

We arrived and were very excited.

CHELSEY DONN:

The place was beautiful.

CHELSEY DONN:

The staff seemed friendly.

CHELSEY DONN:

The drinks were great.

CHELSEY DONN:

The menu looks so great.

CHELSEY DONN:

Super excited for a new plant based restaurant.

CHELSEY DONN:

We ordered.

CHELSEY DONN:

So excited.

CHELSEY DONN:

It was our first date night in months after accidentally overhearing a server mention to a nearby table that they were a vegetarian restaurant.

CHELSEY DONN:

I panicked.

CHELSEY DONN:

What?

CHELSEY DONN:

Why didn't anyone tell us that?

CHELSEY DONN:

Was he wrong?

CHELSEY DONN:

It's vegan, right?

CHELSEY DONN:

I mean, they are plant based, after all.

CHELSEY DONN:

We just ordered, and I was already eating the guacamole.

CHELSEY DONN:

I was dying inside.

CHELSEY DONN:

Oh.

CHELSEY DONN:

M.

CHELSEY DONN:

G.

CHELSEY DONN:

The guacamole isn't vegan.

CHELSEY DONN:

They ruin it with cojita cheese.

CHELSEY DONN:

And not the vegan spoof kind you might find at actual vegan plant based restaurants.

CHELSEY DONN:

Real cheese.

CHELSEY DONN:

In all my years, I've never hoped there would be cheese or any sort on my guac.

CHELSEY DONN:

Am I alone here?

CHELSEY DONN:

Every plant based restaurant in LA, Crossroads, Gracias Madre, Veggie Grill, Plant Power, and Little Pine, to name a few, Has started calling things what they are, better known as, in their normal form.

CHELSEY DONN:

But chicken isn't chicken, beef isn't beef, and cheese isn't really cheese.

CHELSEY DONN:

Well, at this self proclaimed plant based eatery, there is not only cheese in many dishes, there is also egg being used flagrantly.

CHELSEY DONN:

Then, try to make so many efforts to be plant based, expensive, pecan, chorizo, vegan, fondito, impossible vegan nachos, etc., but they are really just hijacking the word.

CHELSEY DONN:

This is a gluten free, vegetarian restaurant.

CHELSEY DONN:

It is not plant based.

CHELSEY DONN:

Eggs and cow pus are not plants.

VOICEOVER:

They

CHELSEY DONN:

could edit the menu and be 100 percent vegan and claim steak among LA's best restaurants, but this bait and switch isn't okay.

CHELSEY DONN:

We immediately modified our order with our server after realizing the vegetarian restaurant we were in, and then the Caesar salad was served to us with cheese, not okay.

CHELSEY DONN:

They took that off our receipt, only to then char us the same price for the one without cheese.

CHELSEY DONN:

We had a lengthy convo with the server about the restaurant being misleading, to which we were told that there was an inner dialogue in the management as to what to call the restaurant.

CHELSEY DONN:

For them to then serve us a salad with cheese is like, So not okay.

CHELSEY DONN:

Okay.

CHELSEY DONN:

Maybe I'm too sensitive.

CHELSEY DONN:

This was going to be a four star review initially, but the one star comes because this restaurant could kill anyone with an egg allergy and a hankering for churros.

CHELSEY DONN:

Oh, yes, the depths of deceit continue to grow.

CHELSEY DONN:

Despite the menu that I really inspected after the initial mistake, clearly noting the churros were vegan, my cemented mistrust for this place led me to confirm with the server are the churros that we had been drooling over during our entire meal vegan, as stated in the menu.

CHELSEY DONN:

She was taken aback, unsure.

CHELSEY DONN:

She quickly disappeared to the kitchen, only to reappear moments later, stating that they were not vegan anymore.

CHELSEY DONN:

There was egg in them now.

CHELSEY DONN:

They just weren't working well without the egg.

CHELSEY DONN:

Update the menu!

CHELSEY DONN:

JFC!

CHELSEY DONN:

This is absolutely no okay!

CHELSEY DONN:

You can't write vegan on the menu and include eggs!

CHELSEY DONN:

This place is great if you want a vegetarian meal.

CHELSEY DONN:

If you're vegan and got duped into thinking it's plant based, beware.

CHELSEY DONN:

They aren't interested in catering to or being honest with vegans here, so you best choose another place.

CHELSEY DONN:

After seeing numerous complaints, I'm sorry I didn't research this place deeper, the responses from management and The lack of attention to update menus with recipe changes and the lack of attention to ensure our orders was fixed is unacceptable.

CHELSEY DONN:

They didn't even comp the cheesy guac.

VOICEOVER:

This

CHELSEY DONN:

place is beautiful, but poorly operated and management.

CHELSEY DONN:

is out of touch.

CHELSEY DONN:

Okay, just want to note that, that James has also included four photos.

VOICEOVER:

Oh.

CHELSEY DONN:

One of them is a reply, but not to their review.

CHELSEY DONN:

So it's a screenshot of a reply from another review, which I'll quickly read.

VOICEOVER:

Okay.

CHELSEY DONN:

Hi, Ado, for noting this and we're listening.

CHELSEY DONN:

I promise almost every item except two on the menu has a vegan option.

CHELSEY DONN:

option to remove the dairy, which is why we believe we are plant based.

CHELSEY DONN:

Plant based or plant forward eating patterns focus on foods primarily from plants.

CHELSEY DONN:

This includes not only fruits and vegetables, but also nuts, seeds, oils, whole grains, legumes, and beans.

CHELSEY DONN:

It doesn't mean that you are vegetarian or vegan and never eat meat or dairy.

CHELSEY DONN:

I understand where you're coming from and we're doing better adjusting menus and honing in on our verbiage from servers so that everyone feels and knows that they can enjoy a lot of the menu and what to steer clear of.

CHELSEY DONN:

Thanks so much for coming in.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah, so I'll get into that in a minute.

CHELSEY DONN:

There's also a copy of the receipt, which shows that, like, we were still charged for everything, even though, yeah, also a copy of the menu where it says that the churros are clearly marked vegan and screenshot of just where it says that it's a plant based Mexican pop up in Venice.

CHELSEY DONN:

It

TREY GERRALD:

literally says de bueno plana is a plant-based Mexican popup.

TREY GERRALD:

Yeah,

CHELSEY DONN:

exactly.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yep.

CHELSEY DONN:

That's what it says.

CHELSEY DONN:

So also just like as a side note, 'cause when I first read the review I was like, alright, I am not vegan.

CHELSEY DONN:

So like, is plant, like plant-based being vegetarian?

CHELSEY DONN:

Like I was like struggling with that.

CHELSEY DONN:

So I wanted to just Google what is plant-based?

CHELSEY DONN:

Like what is the universal acceptance of plant-based?

VOICEOVER:

Okay.

VOICEOVER:

And

CHELSEY DONN:

I just wanna say.

CHELSEY DONN:

Laziness upon laziness.

CHELSEY DONN:

The person that responded that I just read, like after seeing, you know, talking about plant forward and

VOICEOVER:

no,

CHELSEY DONN:

they literally copied and pasted it from Google.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like if you go on Google and you Google what is plant based and like, you know how that gives you questions and you go to the first answer, that's literally the first answer.

CHELSEY DONN:

And the person just copied and pasted it into

TREY GERRALD:

Does that include the sentence that says it doesn't mean you're vegetarian or vegan or never eat meat or dairy?

CHELSEY DONN:

Yes, I think it does.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like, I think, like, literally the whole thing is just like, it's like that was like the life that they're standing on.

CHELSEY DONN:

But then I just like, again, just to do my due diligence, because I knew we were going to be talking about it, I like asked a bunch of friends, vegan and non vegan, I was just like, just pulling the audience.

CHELSEY DONN:

If I said to you, Hey, do you want to go to a plant based restaurant with me this week?

CHELSEY DONN:

Would you assume that that is vegetarian, vegan?

CHELSEY DONN:

What would, what would like be the assumption there?

CHELSEY DONN:

And across the board, everybody said that they would have assumed it was vegan.

TREY GERRALD:

Well, right.

TREY GERRALD:

Because if you're vegan, you don't need anything derivative of an animal, right?

TREY GERRALD:

Right.

TREY GERRALD:

So it would have to be a plant.

CHELSEY DONN:

Right.

CHELSEY DONN:

I was thinking plant based, like, okay, if the base of the item is plant, like, I don't know.

CHELSEY DONN:

I just, I was looking for a technicality because I, I don't know.

CHELSEY DONN:

I was trying to figure out if I could defend the restaurant at all here, but I don't think that I can because I think that plant based has now become analogous.

CHELSEY DONN:

Okay.

TREY GERRALD:

Okay.

TREY GERRALD:

I, okay.

TREY GERRALD:

I have a lot to say about this.

TREY GERRALD:

It seems like this restaurant is consistently faltering in the responsibility.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, this is a very long review, but multiple times, I think, I think James says three or four times, like, I wanted to give it four stars.

TREY GERRALD:

This would be one of the best competing with all the major ones in LA.

TREY GERRALD:

This could have been really great.

TREY GERRALD:

This So, I appreciate that James is honoring, like, it is great, they're just lying.

TREY GERRALD:

Right.

TREY GERRALD:

To me, I think it's unforgivable, how can you say you're vegan and not be vegan?

TREY GERRALD:

I, I, like, I don't understand, how, also, The most disgusting idea to me is having cheese and guacamole.

TREY GERRALD:

What the fuck?

CHELSEY DONN:

I know.

CHELSEY DONN:

Well, that's the thing that's like so egregious to me about this review is like, okay, I can almost wrap my head around like an item that would normally have cheese in it that says cheese in the menu, even though it's like common vernacular now that like cheese isn't cheese and all this stuff.

CHELSEY DONN:

But like, I can almost.

CHELSEY DONN:

Excuse that because there was items in the menu that like had a V and had a different like there were like different things.

CHELSEY DONN:

But to put dairy in an item that definitely does not require dairy and call your restaurant plant based is crazy.

CHELSEY DONN:

That's criminal.

CHELSEY DONN:

It's insane.

CHELSEY DONN:

It's criminal.

CHELSEY DONN:

It's like why there there's There's zero reason to put cheese in guac.

CHELSEY DONN:

No, it's so gross sounding.

CHELSEY DONN:

And especially if it's the cotija cheese, like, that's almost like a garnish.

CHELSEY DONN:

So it feels even more unnecessary.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like, throw some pepitas on there.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like, give me like something else.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like, there's like, you can find something else to be a garnish.

CHELSEY DONN:

If you're gonna try and be plant, it's just like so gross.

CHELSEY DONN:

It just reeks of like, Capitalizing on a market being like, we're in Venice.

CHELSEY DONN:

We want to be a trendy new restaurant.

CHELSEY DONN:

So we're going to say that we're plant based and just call yourself a vegetarian restaurant.

TREY GERRALD:

But it doesn't make sense to me.

TREY GERRALD:

Like you can't masquerade is the word James uses.

TREY GERRALD:

You can't masquerade here because day two of your business being open, people are going to be sick and they're going to be able to deuce.

TREY GERRALD:

Right.

TREY GERRALD:

What they ate at your restaurant doesn't go with their lifestyle.

TREY GERRALD:

I don't understand how they like it's only going to cause you trouble.

TREY GERRALD:

I

CHELSEY DONN:

just think it's so irresponsible and dangerous.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like if you're going to do this and call yourself plant based, then you better have that Google definition and you better highlight like this doesn't mean that you're vegetarian or whatever upon entry and the fact that they had an item on the menu that like was vegan changed to not vegan and then They were still not updating the menu to let people know and they were just ordering it thinking, I mean, that is like so gross.

CHELSEY DONN:

That is like, am I buying something under false pretense?

CHELSEY DONN:

Like, I'm being told that this item is vegan.

CHELSEY DONN:

I'm being told that this restaurant is plant based and then you're shoving all this stuff into it.

CHELSEY DONN:

Though the puss line, puss line,

TREY GERRALD:

I have a question.

TREY GERRALD:

Yeah, I definitely need to know what Cow Puss is.

TREY GERRALD:

I'm also wait to your point previously.

TREY GERRALD:

Yeah, the restaurant is named The Good Plant.

CHELSEY DONN:

Exactly.

CHELSEY DONN:

Which is like irony upon

TREY GERRALD:

the most offensive title.

TREY GERRALD:

If you're going to be shady, I just I literally blows my mind.

TREY GERRALD:

I think the value here.

TREY GERRALD:

is like if the whole reply that you read from that like picture yeah like it doesn't mean that you're vegetarian or vegan and never eat meat or dairy feels like a slap in the like why would you take that approach if you're called the good plant if you are presenting yourself as a plant based plant forward why would you not have like eight million symbols after every word Every single item on the menu, If you're gonna be able to have options, It just, it seems like the opposite approach, Rather than being like, Oh, well, we have plant options.

TREY GERRALD:

It seems like you would actually be plants.

TREY GERRALD:

With an option to be not plant based.

TREY GERRALD:

Exactly.

TREY GERRALD:

But, but why?

TREY GERRALD:

It's like a vegan, you should call

CHELSEY DONN:

yourself a vegan friendly restaurant and, and like, you know, we're a vegetarian vegan friendly restaurant or something like that where it's like and our items can be adapted.

CHELSEY DONN:

Please be clear.

CHELSEY DONN:

Because there are a lot of vegan friendly restaurants that I've gone to where it's like, it'll be vegetarian, it'll be whatever, but then it'll clearly have like marked like plant based If you want this item vegan, like, you can let us in and just let us know.

CHELSEY DONN:

Also, I love

TREY GERRALD:

the phrase flagrant egg use.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yes, me too.

CHELSEY DONN:

Also, I'm looking at the menu that James posted and what's very interesting, speaking of like the weird confusion over like, what is what?

CHELSEY DONN:

So by the churros, it has a capital V in parentheses next to it.

CHELSEY DONN:

Then by the tres leches, it says the word vegan.

CHELSEY DONN:

And then by the Mexican flourless cake, it has a V in parenthesis and an N in parenthesis.

CHELSEY DONN:

What the hell does that mean?

CHELSEY DONN:

Does it mean that when V is in parenthesis, it means vegetarian?

CHELSEY DONN:

And then it's only vegan if they actually spell vegan?

CHELSEY DONN:

Cause that's even more insane.

TREY GERRALD:

Okay, wait, I have a, I have like a higher question.

TREY GERRALD:

When did this restaurant open?

TREY GERRALD:

I want to say,

CHELSEY DONN:

uh, James does not, cause

TREY GERRALD:

it does seem to me like they don't know what they're doing.

CHELSEY DONN:

James mentions that it's a new restaurant and he wrote it in like a week ago, actually.

CHELSEY DONN:

So,

TREY GERRALD:

cause I'm curious about that.

TREY GERRALD:

I don't know.

TREY GERRALD:

I think like, Obviously, like, the joke that we don't want to walk into is like, how do you know someone's vegan?

TREY GERRALD:

They're gonna tell ya.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, that stereotype exists because you have to be very meticulous about what you're putting in your body if you're being meticulous about what you're putting in your body.

TREY GERRALD:

So how could you masquerade as a restaurant that's just, like, being very careless?

TREY GERRALD:

I, I, I think I, I do trust James and the review, especially because they go into such lengthy detail and they mentioned multiple times in the real estate of this review.

TREY GERRALD:

This has the potential to compete with Crossroads, that excellent movie by Britney Spears.

TREY GERRALD:

Also veggie grill.

TREY GERRALD:

I love veggie grill.

TREY GERRALD:

I wish we had veggie grills on the East Coast.

TREY GERRALD:

And also like James alludes to.

TREY GERRALD:

After being here, they looked at all these other not so great reviews, which makes me think, Oh, okay, more context here, more allegiance with James experience that the restaurant has to like, you can't just copy and paste on Google, like, Something I know very wrong here, which is highlighted by the other picture with the vegan versus a V.

TREY GERRALD:

I mean, I think this is having a large impact on me.

TREY GERRALD:

I'm not even plant based, but if I was, I would, this would be like, I mean, it does seem criminal.

TREY GERRALD:

You can't mess with people's digestion.

TREY GERRALD:

Like if someone doesn't eat cheese and then they don't know there's cheese in the Caesar salad and they're eating it.

TREY GERRALD:

They're gonna get sick.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, that's what I don't understand the end game here.

TREY GERRALD:

Yeah,

CHELSEY DONN:

I just think it's all marketing and it's gross.

CHELSEY DONN:

And even on the receipt itself, like it clearly says plant based, like even on the like, they are using, they are running, it is their branding.

TREY GERRALD:

It's literally the title.

TREY GERRALD:

What's the spelling and grammar

CHELSEY DONN:

like?

CHELSEY DONN:

We had a few mistakes peppered in there.

CHELSEY DONN:

Not, I mean, considering how long the review was, It's not, like, a ton, but I can't give James a perfect score.

CHELSEY DONN:

You know what's interesting to me?

TREY GERRALD:

I feel like there was humor sprinkled in here, even though, like, I don't think the subject matter is humorous at all, like, I think they need to really be held to task, this restaurant, but I appreciated, like, flagrant egg use, and, like, accidentally overheard.

CHELSEY DONN:

Right, right, right, right.

TREY GERRALD:

What does JFC stand for?

CHELSEY DONN:

Jesus effing Christ.

TREY GERRALD:

How did you know that?

TREY GERRALD:

I

CHELSEY DONN:

don't know, says the Jew.

CHELSEY DONN:

Also, wait, because it

TREY GERRALD:

says JFC and then no good, right?

TREY GERRALD:

Do you think that was a typo?

TREY GERRALD:

Or is it like, no, was it not good or no good?

TREY GERRALD:

Because that was really funny to me to just be like, no good.

CHELSEY DONN:

This is absolute no okay.

CHELSEY DONN:

I think this is absolutely not okay.

TREY GERRALD:

But that's kind of funny to me.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, that could be like a lexicon of a teenager, I'm imagining.

TREY GERRALD:

Sure,

CHELSEY DONN:

maybe.

TREY GERRALD:

Ultimately here, I think the impact deal breaker for me is one of the concluding statements in the review is you cannot write that you're vegan if you're not.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah, that's it.

TREY GERRALD:

I mean, I feel like I could crown this.

TREY GERRALD:

Anything else?

TREY GERRALD:

How are you feeling?

CHELSEY DONN:

I think I can crown James.

CHELSEY DONN:

I'm, I feel pretty confident.

TREY GERRALD:

Alright, so, Chelsey and I each have our own set of zero to five crown cards, and in an effort to be fair and not influenced by one another, we will simultaneously reveal our rating.

VOICEOVER:

The Queens are tabulating.

VOICEOVER:

So,

CHELSEY DONN:

it's a school.

CHELSEY DONN:

Oh, wow, okay, so I'm holding up four crowns, Trey is holding up four and a half crowns, Trey, you go first, why four and a half for James?

TREY GERRALD:

Well, I really was conflicted here.

TREY GERRALD:

I kind of wanted to do five crowns.

TREY GERRALD:

The reason I didn't do five crowns, I don't know why.

TREY GERRALD:

I don't know.

TREY GERRALD:

I think now I'm feeling like maybe I should have done five crowns.

TREY GERRALD:

I think that this is reeking with a lot of value.

TREY GERRALD:

I think maybe the length would maybe keep me from reading it.

TREY GERRALD:

But the reason I'm on the fence about five crowns is because the due diligence of the images that they included, I think, stands alone.

TREY GERRALD:

Anytime you're on Yelp and someone includes images, I think, like, the algorithm pushes it to the top.

TREY GERRALD:

I don't know.

TREY GERRALD:

It stands out.

TREY GERRALD:

I think James is coming in hot to protect everyone in their community and I really appreciate it wasn't a full slanderous review to something that I think deserves to be slandered because they said the potential here is so phenomenal.

TREY GERRALD:

You know, I want to change it.

TREY GERRALD:

I'm going to change it to five

CHELSEY DONN:

crowns.

CHELSEY DONN:

I do think that

TREY GERRALD:

it is a review queen because Even though there were some typos here or whatever, it's like, I think that the impact for me as someone who isn't plant based, I'm mad.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, I want to defend the plant based people and like pick at the restaurant and be like, do not go here.

TREY GERRALD:

You're going to injure your body.

TREY GERRALD:

And there were sprinkled in humor, you know, it's like, I definitely think it's common.

TREY GERRALD:

They reference the other negative reviews.

TREY GERRALD:

Like you could read this one review and get the point, which I think.

TREY GERRALD:

is queenly.

TREY GERRALD:

So that's why I said five crowns after originally saying four and a half, because I convinced myself in talking, Chelsey, why did you say four?

CHELSEY DONN:

I said four crowns.

CHELSEY DONN:

I love that James was so thorough.

CHELSEY DONN:

And you know that I love when we have a negative review, and they're not just completely slanderous.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like whenever I read a negative review, and they're still complimenting what is good about the restaurant.

CHELSEY DONN:

So It makes me believe the reviewer more.

CHELSEY DONN:

So that was hugely valuable.

CHELSEY DONN:

I took away a crown for spelling and grammar.

CHELSEY DONN:

It's got to be perfect for me and a little bit of the length.

CHELSEY DONN:

Those were the two things that kept me from making this a review queen.

CHELSEY DONN:

But I will say, like, Kudos to James for standing up and saying this.

CHELSEY DONN:

And I hope, I really do hope that the people that own this restaurant read this and change it to vegetarian.

CHELSEY DONN:

Just say you're vegetarian.

CHELSEY DONN:

Just say you're vegan friendly.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like that's it.

CHELSEY DONN:

That's all you have to do.

CHELSEY DONN:

It is wrong to not have someone on high alert When they have dietary restrictions, I don't like it, I'm not happy about it, and I hope that they do something to change it, and James has made me impassioned about that plea, so four crowns for you, James.

TREY GERRALD:

I hear that.

TREY GERRALD:

Do you want to go get some cow puss?

TREY GERRALD:

Eww!

CHELSEY DONN:

Is someone at the door?

CHELSEY DONN:

Oh my goodness!

CHELSEY DONN:

Oh wow!

CHELSEY DONN:

Surprise,

TREY GERRALD:

surprise!

TREY GERRALD:

Wait, this is new, should we see who's behind door number one?

TREY GERRALD:

Yes!

TREY GERRALD:

Who is at the door, please?

CHELSEY DONN:

The reviewer

TREY GERRALD:

is

CHELSEY DONN:

here.

TREY GERRALD:

Surprise!

TREY GERRALD:

Wait, it's James.

TREY GERRALD:

This is our James and he's been here the whole time.

CHELSEY DONN:

Hi, James.

JAMES:

I snuck in, uh, the back door and then I ripped right around the front and rang the doorbell.

JAMES:

Being polite.

JAMES:

Thank you.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yes.

CHELSEY DONN:

To be fair, when we said it was James.

CHELSEY DONN:

James,

TREY GERRALD:

we have you here, and you are a listener of the show, you've been very supportive, which we love, and we just reviewed you, and your review, so talk us through, talk us through, what was that like?

JAMES:

I mean, I'm kind of shaking, because it was definitely intense.

JAMES:

Chelsey, I think you read it pretty perfectly to how I read it in my head, it came across correct, um, I do think Yelp is up to get people with the autocorrect and just changing things, Oh, good

CHELSEY DONN:

to know, that's important, Okay,

JAMES:

like I know I submitted the review and I don't know when you guys screen captured it, but then I went back the next day and was like, what is this typo?

JAMES:

Oh, that is

CHELSEY DONN:

very interesting,

JAMES:

it might be perfect now, but yeah, I think that Yelp is definitely shady when it comes to autocorrecting when you're not, Yeah, I mean, it was just, it was really exciting to kind of hear that the things that you've taught.

VOICEOVER:

Us,

JAMES:

you know, to be nice, to be respectful, to throw in some humor, to use truth, to not just be like a crazy Karen.

JAMES:

It was helpful to me to know that that actually paid off and made for a really good review.

JAMES:

I have to say, definitely, this was at the new location in Silver Lake, the first locations in Venice, which is where the screen capture is from, but just to be fair, I'm sure that they do the same thing at that restaurant.

JAMES:

I just, they came for my churros and that was really the deal breaker for me.

JAMES:

We were sitting there.

JAMES:

And my partner and I were kind of discussing the churros the whole time.

JAMES:

I'm like, those churros, like, once we found out it wasn't vegan, I was like, Oh, man, I hope the churros are vegan.

JAMES:

And he's like, I'm like, I bet they won't be.

JAMES:

Oh, no, they might be.

JAMES:

And we get the menu and see the vegan.

JAMES:

Yes.

JAMES:

Oh, my God, the churros.

JAMES:

And then we couldn't have churros.

VOICEOVER:

Oh, my God.

JAMES:

Churros are my favorite thing in the world.

JAMES:

So much so that our dessert at our wedding is going to be in a month.

JAMES:

Don't tell me you can't make a vegan churro.

CHELSEY DONN:

Right?

CHELSEY DONN:

It can happen.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah.

CHELSEY DONN:

Lazy.

TREY GERRALD:

Do not come for James's Churros.

JAMES:

Do not come for my churros.

JAMES:

I think what all the other reviews, like, they almost have as many one star reviews as five star reviews, and every single one star review brings up this topic, and I wrote this review before even seeing that, so, just knowing that there's a huge community in the two weeks that this place has been open that have been like, no, it is not okay, you cannot use the word plant based, plant based is a diet, vegan is a lifestyle, that includes a plant based diet.

VOICEOVER:

So

JAMES:

it's not like we made up the word plant based, plant forward is bullshit, that's just a marketing term and I've been duped before at a restaurant by that,

VOICEOVER:

and

JAMES:

the problem is that it's usually a friend of the vegan that's picking the restaurant, they're so thrilled that they found a restaurant that it seems like everyone can eat at, they have a whole plant forward menu, great, you get there and you can't even eat anything.

JAMES:

It's like they don't even make an effort to make a vegan dish as part of the plant forward menu.

JAMES:

So it's like it's been happening and it just needs to stop.

JAMES:

So I think those of us that are plant based and like I really haven't eaten an animal in six years.

JAMES:

So that cheese on the avocado was really gross.

JAMES:

Yeah, that's

CHELSEY DONN:

upsetting.

CHELSEY DONN:

Not that it's like, I don't know.

CHELSEY DONN:

You have to start over from day one or something like that.

CHELSEY DONN:

But like, it's still upsetting.

JAMES:

It's on AA, you know?

JAMES:

Right, exactly.

JAMES:

That's what I was

CHELSEY DONN:

gonna say.

CHELSEY DONN:

But it's still like, you know, you, you committed your life to a certain way of eating.

CHELSEY DONN:

And I think it's really shady.

CHELSEY DONN:

And I hope that reviewers like you and because you are such a review queen today, and you're throwing your review into the hat, I hope that they really do change because it's still early days for this restaurant.

TREY GERRALD:

Yeah, I do feel like they're gonna have to.

JAMES:

It's a beautiful restaurant.

JAMES:

The drinks were fantastic.

JAMES:

The lighting is a little difficult.

JAMES:

Maybe I'm just getting older, but to read the menus, the V's were very small.

JAMES:

And then it's kind of got that, you know, string lights 20 feet over your head lighting.

JAMES:

Yeah.

JAMES:

You really notice that there's a tiny V and I don't know what the R means or whatever the other letter was and like there's no code on the make these things mean so who knows

CHELSEY DONN:

there's no code and it's dark so it's almost like they're purposely trying to get you to not see what's going on

JAMES:

vague

TREY GERRALD:

which is like a problem

CHELSEY DONN:

very vague

JAMES:

it would be fine if every time you Somebody got sat down every single time they were told, which I think is what's supposed to be happening at this restaurant, but it didn't happen.

JAMES:

Our server, sweet as pie, just didn't incorporate that.

JAMES:

I did.

JAMES:

I only heard it from one server, actually.

TREY GERRALD:

Wow, but overheard.

TREY GERRALD:

Accidentally.

TREY GERRALD:

But see, my thinking is like, if you are a plant based restaurant, even if you're a vegetarian restaurant, I don't think it should be coded.

TREY GERRALD:

I don't think it should be a key.

TREY GERRALD:

I think you're actually a restaurant with an intention.

TREY GERRALD:

So I think it should be spelled out.

TREY GERRALD:

And to your point about the lighting, I think it should be in red letters.

TREY GERRALD:

It shouldn't be smaller than the type font.

TREY GERRALD:

It should be part of the description.

TREY GERRALD:

There should be no question that the whole point that you just said about, you know, You have lived your life a certain number of years without putting the stuff in your body.

TREY GERRALD:

It's so disrespectful to have that power taken away that it's not.

TREY GERRALD:

This isn't a joke, like especially

CHELSEY DONN:

when you're capitalizing on those people,

TREY GERRALD:

right?

TREY GERRALD:

And that's why I feel like there's just hopefully I do think that I think that this restaurant will have to get get it and change it because It's been open so short.

TREY GERRALD:

I'm curious about the Venice location, but like you can't do this and not have any retribution.

TREY GERRALD:

Like there is a consequence coming and hopefully like your impact on the review will be felt and hopefully there will be a change.

TREY GERRALD:

I mean, Crazy.

CHELSEY DONN:

Insane.

CHELSEY DONN:

My roommate went to Craig's and they are vegan friendly.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like they clearly, they're not a vegan restaurant.

CHELSEY DONN:

They have like steaks and all, but they're a vegan friendly restaurant.

CHELSEY DONN:

And they have this amazing vegan ice cream.

CHELSEY DONN:

That's like what they're known for.

CHELSEY DONN:

And my roommate is pescatarian.

CHELSEY DONN:

And he went there and he ordered the chicken parm, but he asked for it vegan because that's like a common thing on the menu.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like you can say, I want the chicken parm, but I want it vegan.

CHELSEY DONN:

So he ordered it vegan and he like ate like the whole thing and the whole time he was like moaning and then the server came back and he was like this is the most incredible like forget even vegan chicken parm like this is the most amazing chicken parm I've ever had in my life how did you do this like how could you make something vegan taste this good and these the waitresses Face turned like white.

CHELSEY DONN:

Oh

VOICEOVER:

God.

VOICEOVER:

And

CHELSEY DONN:

she like ran to the kitchen and they had to come out and it was a whole thing.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like they came out and they were like, I'm so sorry.

CHELSEY DONN:

Are you gonna be okay?

CHELSEY DONN:

Like, do you have an allergy?

CHELSEY DONN:

We really messed up, like, we're gonna take it off your bill.

CHELSEY DONN:

And, and like he was upset, but like, he was just a pescatarian.

CHELSEY DONN:

He's not allergic to it.

CHELSEY DONN:

So.

CHELSEY DONN:

You know, life went on.

CHELSEY DONN:

But the point is that in that situation, when they made a mistake, it was like a really big deal.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like they really did a lot.

CHELSEY DONN:

So the fact that they did nothing, like they literally charge you the same amount after they just, like, messed up your salad and made you eat something that, like, you haven't eaten in so long.

CHELSEY DONN:

It's just, where's the customer service?

CHELSEY DONN:

It's true.

TREY GERRALD:

Wait, James, what is cow puss?

JAMES:

It's, it's, what's it?

JAMES:

Cheese.

JAMES:

There's a little bit of cow puss in every glass of milk.

JAMES:

Just saying.

JAMES:

Oh!

TREY GERRALD:

What is that, though?

TREY GERRALD:

Like?

JAMES:

It's like

TREY GERRALD:

Puss,

JAMES:

puss.

JAMES:

Puss.

JAMES:

Like, not good.

JAMES:

From

TREY GERRALD:

their udders or whatever?

TREY GERRALD:

Yeah,

JAMES:

from the abuse that their udders go through on a daily basis for

TREY GERRALD:

years.

TREY GERRALD:

Oh, God.

TREY GERRALD:

makes those bones strong.

TREY GERRALD:

Got milk?

JAMES:

Yeah.

TREY GERRALD:

Well, do we have any final thoughts?

TREY GERRALD:

I appreciate you, your willingness to let us, uh, review your review on the show.

JAMES:

It was, it was a lot of fun.

JAMES:

I, you know, do suggest other people that listen to do it too.

JAMES:

Yes.

JAMES:

I used to write those evil, mean, passive aggressive reviews and they're just not fun.

JAMES:

They're not fun.

JAMES:

Good to have on your reputation, like, if you're gonna write a review, do it the right way, make it a little bit funny, and definitely spellcheck.

CHELSEY DONN:

And definitely spellcheck your spellcheck, cause that's a really good note for us, that autocorrect, now I'm gonna have to think about that, moving forward, whether or not I ding people so much for that.

TREY GERRALD:

I will say that I have a screenshot that I pulled up yesterday, and it, It's already, and the week that this review has been up has one useful and two people found it funny.

TREY GERRALD:

There

CHELSEY DONN:

you go.

TREY GERRALD:

That's great.

CHELSEY DONN:

Well, I guess following the Review Queen rubric can really yield great results on Yelp.

CHELSEY DONN:

Thank you so much, James.

CHELSEY DONN:

That was so much fun.

CHELSEY DONN:

I'm so happy that you sent us that review.

CHELSEY DONN:

You slid into our DMs, you went for it, and now you're here on the show.

CHELSEY DONN:

So that's incredible and brings a whole new perspective.

CHELSEY DONN:

We already learn new things like the spellcheck.

CHELSEY DONN:

So if you're listening.

CHELSEY DONN:

And you, like James, love to write reviews, and you'd be willing to submit it to us, slide into our DMs, send us a link, and let us know.

CHELSEY DONN:

And maybe you, like James, can listen in on one of our shows.

CHELSEY DONN:

And listeners, you never know when someone's in the house, just saying.

CHELSEY DONN:

There could always be someone hiding behind door number one.

TREY GERRALD:

And watch out for cow puss.

TREY GERRALD:

Yes.

TREY GERRALD:

Yuck.

TREY GERRALD:

All right.

TREY GERRALD:

Well, James, since you're here, and you are officially inducted into the Queendom.

TREY GERRALD:

Yes.

TREY GERRALD:

Would you like to join us for the Meryl Go Round?

JAMES:

I mean, of course.

JAMES:

All

TREY GERRALD:

right, so here we are.

TREY GERRALD:

This is the One Star Zinger time.

TREY GERRALD:

We are going to take a quick little spin on the Meryl Go Round.

CHELSEY DONN:

I don't feel like an icon.

CHELSEY DONN:

Most of the days I feel like I can't.

CHELSEY DONN:

That's with an A.

CHELSEY DONN:

Alright, Trey and James each have a rotten, scathing, pithy, one star zinger, and with 30 seconds on the clock, they'll try to recite the zinger in as many genres as possible.

TREY GERRALD:

Just like Queen Meryl, who does it all.

CHELSEY DONN:

Before the clock runs out, alright, Trey, where is your one star zinger from today?

TREY GERRALD:

Okay, so today, I have a one star zinger from good ol Amazon.

CHELSEY DONN:

Okay, we love her.

TREY GERRALD:

And, um, as I found this, I was like, oh, this needs to be a main episode, but I found a zinger.

TREY GERRALD:

This is for Old Spice, aluminum free deodorant for men, high endurance refresh, three ounce each, pack of three.

VOICEOVER:

It's supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

TREY GERRALD:

And this is written by N.

TREY GERRALD:

W.

TREY GERRALD:

T., their one star review subject is, Get Something Else, TBH, asterisk, toxic, asterisk.

TREY GERRALD:

And their review is, Melted the skin off my armpits, smells nice, but yeah.

TREY GERRALD:

Cry, Laugh, Face.

TREY GERRALD:

Emoji!

CHELSEY DONN:

Oh my god, well good luck, you're gonna have to do that, just like I had to do facepalm.

TREY GERRALD:

I know, it's really long, but it had an emoji, so I had to do it.

TREY GERRALD:

He also included an image of a disgusting, hairy armpit with nasty, nasty, red rash, so it, Really did melt the skin off.

TREY GERRALD:

Aye

CHELSEY DONN:

y.

CHELSEY DONN:

All right.

CHELSEY DONN:

I'm gonna strap you into like some Neosporin, 'cause I feel like you'd need that after you burned yourself.

CHELSEY DONN:

So let's protect you with Neosporin.

CHELSEY DONN:

And are you ready?

TREY GERRALD:

I think I'm, this is gonna be hard, but Yes, I'm ready.

TREY GERRALD:

Okay, let's do it.

TREY GERRALD:

Okay, here we go.

TREY GERRALD:

Three, two.

TREY GERRALD:

One, Go!

TREY GERRALD:

Courtroom Drama, Melt the skin off my armpits, Smells nice, but yeah, Rom Com, Melt the skin off my armpits, Smells nice, but yeah, WWE, Melt the skin off my armpits, Smells nice, but yeah, Soap

VOICEOVER:

Opera,

TREY GERRALD:

Melt the skin off my armpits, Smells nice, but yeah,

TREY GERRALD:

Spies!

TREY GERRALD:

Ooh, melted skin off my arm, Smells nice, but yeah,

TREY GERRALD:

That's harder than I thought it would be.

TREY GERRALD:

But

CHELSEY DONN:

that was still five!

CHELSEY DONN:

Good job, Queen.

TREY GERRALD:

Five?

TREY GERRALD:

Okay.

TREY GERRALD:

Alright James, are you ready?

JAMES:

I am ready, and I have reviewed Rate My Professor, it is a one star review for a class called Micro 101, or 102, whatever that is.

JAMES:

And the review is, UGH!

JAMES:

He's just so boring.

JAMES:

Been there, been there.

JAMES:

We've all been there.

JAMES:

Just so boring.

TREY GERRALD:

Well, James, I, as your competitor, I'm going to strap you into a boring textbook that is just really big and has been sold at the library eight times and there's a bunch of notes and highlights on it.

CHELSEY DONN:

Okay.

CHELSEY DONN:

It's a used, boring book.

TREY GERRALD:

Yes.

TREY GERRALD:

All right, James.

TREY GERRALD:

All right.

TREY GERRALD:

You ready?

TREY GERRALD:

Here we go.

VOICEOVER:

Three, two, one, go!, teen drama, ah, it's so boring, game show, ah, he's just so boring, melodrama, ah, it's just so boring, superhero, ah, he's just so boring, Magic Show, Oh, he's just so boring, Disney, Oh, he's just a boy, Oh my God, I'll give it to you because you got it in before, I'm pretty sure you won James, for me to come and impress, Hey, that was fun, It's been great, let's say for, Six for James, Woo, James, James, you won, You took the title, Queen.

VOICEOVER:

You did it.

JAMES:

Thank you so much.

VOICEOVER:

Oh,

JAMES:

my gosh.

JAMES:

I can go and watch the rest of my day now.

TREY GERRALD:

Yay, James.

TREY GERRALD:

Wow.

TREY GERRALD:

I'm so, I was like so nervous because I know that you like, you don't do this every week like we do.

TREY GERRALD:

And you did so good.

TREY GERRALD:

You slayed me.

TREY GERRALD:

How dare you?

JAMES:

It was a really good, you know, short and to the point review.

JAMES:

And that's the key to win this competition.

VOICEOVER:

All

TREY GERRALD:

right.

TREY GERRALD:

I think that, I think that we have really come to realize that, but I have such a hard time finding the zingers, I just, I, and I hate long, real reviews, but my zingers are always too long, right, Chelsey?

CHELSEY DONN:

Well, listen, we, we, we're trying to get the great, the greatest of zingers, and sometimes length and great zingers don't match up, we do our best.

CHELSEY DONN:

But, Trey, don't be embarrassed because James, like, really showed up.

TREY GERRALD:

Really showed up and also I feel honored that you listened and support and came on the show in school.

TREY GERRALD:

Yes.

TREY GERRALD:

It actually feels really lovely.

TREY GERRALD:

Thanks for having me.

TREY GERRALD:

It was fun.

CHELSEY DONN:

Of course.

CHELSEY DONN:

Duh, of course.

TREY GERRALD:

Before

CHELSEY DONN:

we say goodbye to James, who is so lovely in joining us today, tell us a little bit about what you do, where we can find you.

JAMES:

Sure, I'm a massage therapist in Los Angeles, but I also just started a wellness website called That Wellness Guy, and it is kind of a collection of what I find on the internet related to massage.

JAMES:

Plant Based Wellness, CBD products, kind of anything in that realm.

JAMES:

It's kind of like a place where you can go and find some gleaned information from the, uh, from the interwebs, right?

JAMES:

You know, I'll type little blurbs about what the article that you might go to is.

JAMES:

So it's kind of like Reader's Digest.

JAMES:

Um, I started the website to help, um, friends and clients that are going vegan, um, To kind of make it easier so I don't have to keep typing the same email every day.

JAMES:

And

CHELSEY DONN:

the website is?

JAMES:

ThatWellnessGuy.

JAMES:

com.

CHELSEY DONN:

ThatWellnessGuy.

CHELSEY DONN:

com, which will also be in the show notes.

CHELSEY DONN:

So thank you again, James, for being here.

CHELSEY DONN:

This is so fun.

CHELSEY DONN:

And we'll see you soon.

CHELSEY DONN:

Keep keep on reviewing, Queen.

TREY GERRALD:

And give my love to Thomas.

TREY GERRALD:

All right.

TREY GERRALD:

Oh, wasn't that so nice?

TREY GERRALD:

Wait, I was so

CHELSEY DONN:

nice.

TREY GERRALD:

I was like so touched that James was like, I've learned from the show.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, I know, like, not me getting like teary eyed on our podcast.

TREY GERRALD:

That's so sweet.

TREY GERRALD:

What a great guy.

TREY GERRALD:

Wow.

TREY GERRALD:

Amazing.

TREY GERRALD:

All right.

TREY GERRALD:

With this, like bubbly, warm, awesome energy.

TREY GERRALD:

We have reached the most regal portion of our show.

TREY GERRALD:

Chelsey, who are you inducting today for?

CHELSEY DONN:

My Royal Highness.

CHELSEY DONN:

So today, in honor of James being here, I want to induct James, all the Jameses, and everybody who has been a loyal listener, who's taken a little bit of extra time to share the podcast on their stories or DM us and let us know that we've been helpful with you picking out your wedding dress because you read through a million reviews or anyone who's just.

CHELSEY DONN:

Done a little extra to show Trey and I your support.

CHELSEY DONN:

I just want to take a moment to thank you so much because I think maybe for you that feels like a small thing like, Oh, I'm just gonna, you know, tell my friend that I love that episode or whatever it is.

CHELSEY DONN:

But for Trey and I, it means so much.

CHELSEY DONN:

Thank you It just helps us to realize that we are connecting with you in a true way.

CHELSEY DONN:

And as you know, Trey just mentioned, just knowing that James even thought about us in the back of his mind while he was writing this review or it changed his perspective about how he approaches reviews.

CHELSEY DONN:

It's just so heartwarming.

CHELSEY DONN:

And I just want to say thank you.

CHELSEY DONN:

I want to say thank you so much to anyone who's taken a little time out of their day to let us know that you're listening.

CHELSEY DONN:

Thank you, loyal listeners.

CHELSEY DONN:

Trey and I love and appreciate you.

CHELSEY DONN:

And I'm officially inducting you all as our Royal Highness.

TREY GERRALD:

I love that.

TREY GERRALD:

I mean, I yes, I can't even add to that.

TREY GERRALD:

I think I'm feeling so emotional.

TREY GERRALD:

Anyway, I concur.

TREY GERRALD:

And yes, Yes, 100%.

TREY GERRALD:

Thank you for being with us and for sharing and, you know, supporting.

TREY GERRALD:

We love that.

TREY GERRALD:

Yes.

TREY GERRALD:

Well, ironically, Chelsey, do you think that we have a little extra time today to do a royal review?

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah, of course, because we need to highlight one of our loyal listeners.

CHELSEY DONN:

Let's do it right now.

CHELSEY DONN:

Baby,

VOICEOVER:

it's time for some Royal Reviews!

VOICEOVER:

Clearly every review

TREY GERRALD:

for our show is a Royal Review.

TREY GERRALD:

And today, we have one from, get ready, capital C, money sign, capital E, ampersand, at sign, exclamation mark, on Apple Podcasts.

TREY GERRALD:

TREY GERRALD:

TREY GERRALD:

My only complaint is that I can't get enough.

TREY GERRALD:

You guys are hilarious.

TREY GERRALD:

I'm seeing reviews in a whole new light.

TREY GERRALD:

I will always judge reviews I read based on your criteria now.

TREY GERRALD:

Emoji of a smiley nerdy glasses, cry laughing face emoji, a ghost emoji, and the two heart emoji.

CHELSEY DONN:

Aww.

CHELSEY DONN:

Well, thank you, C money.

CHELSEY DONN:

CHELSEY DONN:

CHELSEY DONN:

And also really is yes anding what we just said in Our Royal Highness, so.

CHELSEY DONN:

I

TREY GERRALD:

know.

TREY GERRALD:

Isn't that crazy?

TREY GERRALD:

I truly didn't mean.

TREY GERRALD:

I didn't see any of that coming, honestly.

TREY GERRALD:

So, amazing.

TREY GERRALD:

Wow, what a wonderful energy here at the end of our 50th episode, Chelsey.

TREY GERRALD:

Oh my god,

CHELSEY DONN:

TREY GERRALD:
