Transcript
Voiceover:

Everybody's got an opinion, Every Californian and Virginian, It's so hard to tell who to trust and who to ignore.

Voiceover:

Someone's gotta settle the score.

Voiceover:

Trey and Chelsey will help you choose.

Voiceover:

Who's views win, which ones lose.

Voiceover:

Online haters are coming for you.

Voiceover:

Baby, it's time to Review That Review!

CHELSEY DONN:

Hello,

TREY GERRALD:

Well, hello, and welcome to Review That Review.

TREY GERRALD:

We are THE podcast that is dedicated to reviewing.

TREY GERRALD:

That is your co host, Chelsey Donn,

CHELSEY DONN:

and that is your co host Trey Gerald.

TREY GERRALD:

and together we're the co hosting team known as...

Voiceover:

The Review Queens,

TREY GERRALD:

But before we do that, Chelsey, I gotta know.

TREY GERRALD:

Is there anything that you were just yearning to

Voiceover:

Lodge a Complaint,

TREY GERRALD:

about today?

CHELSEY DONN:

In fact, there is.

CHELSEY DONN:

I want to go a little bit introspective today.

CHELSEY DONN:

I'm going to be complaining about myself, sort of, but I'm It's really the person that I become when there are flies in the house, okay?

CHELSEY DONN:

I become murderous.

TREY GERRALD:

oh,

CHELSEY DONN:

I become someone that I don't recognize.

CHELSEY DONN:

I imagine that if I were to play the role of a murderer, then I would think about the Chelsey that I am when there are flies around, because there's just a real threshold for me.

CHELSEY DONN:

One fly, I can let you kind of do your thing for a minute, ignore you, You're gonna die in a couple days, when we have about once a year, Maybe twice a year, where we get like a fly infestation in the house for some reason, like just open the back door, You leave it open too long, and then all of a sudden they're there, and I, I have this technique where I use a towel, Particularly a brown towel, because apparently they can't see brown.

CHELSEY DONN:

Little known trick, and I whip it around,

TREY GERRALD:

hmm, oh,

CHELSEY DONN:

and I kill them, that is how I kill the flies, and I like it, I like, I enjoy killing them, I, I get like, yeah.

CHELSEY DONN:

I get like a joy out of it and it's, it's scary.

CHELSEY DONN:

I understand that I've been driven to this point because there's just sort of like innate, my house is being taken over thing that happens within me and I must eliminate the problem.

CHELSEY DONN:

That being said, like, I don't like this quality.

CHELSEY DONN:

I think I'm a very, I'm a nearly a pacifist.

CHELSEY DONN:

I'm a pretty docile person, but who is this person that I become?

TREY GERRALD:

you are to flies what the mean jocks are to nerds in the locker room, you whip them with towels,

CHELSEY DONN:

That's right.

CHELSEY DONN:

Except my whipping kills them.

TREY GERRALD:

I mean that's insane girl, I didn't know this about you,

CHELSEY DONN:

Like, I don't know that there's a humane way to kill a fly,

TREY GERRALD:

a good point, you know those like fly papers and fly swatters?

TREY GERRALD:

There's electric bug zappers, like all of

CHELSEY DONN:

Right?

CHELSEY DONN:

I mean, that seems real.

CHELSEY DONN:

That shit.

CHELSEY DONN:

The electric zapper.

CHELSEY DONN:

That's some real, like, psycho killer shit to me.

CHELSEY DONN:

Do

TREY GERRALD:

I mean, there is something satisfying about the zap to me.

CHELSEY DONN:

you have one of those?

TREY GERRALD:

have one in Key West, but I don't think it's been plugged in in like years.

CHELSEY DONN:

I mean, that's like giving the fly the electric chair.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like, that feels like, somehow that feels more cruel than a quick, like, snap of the wrist that's taking them out of their misery, like, real fast.

TREY GERRALD:

You know, but I grew up in our backyard, we had a fly zapper, so maybe that's why it just seems normal to me.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah,

TREY GERRALD:

By

CHELSEY DONN:

of those, like, ones that, like, hung, hung down.

TREY GERRALD:

it was like a purple light.

CHELSEY DONN:

had that in Florida.

CHELSEY DONN:

Terrifying!

CHELSEY DONN:

I mean, I just don't like who I've become, but I, I don't know, maybe if you have any, uh, advice, 1 850 REVIEW ZERO, I know we have some vegans, I don't know if a trigger warning for the vegans listening, I don't know what else I could do to be more humane about it, but when the flies come, this monster just emerges for me.

CHELSEY DONN:

So, anyway.

CHELSEY DONN:

That's what I wanted to take this complaint as an opportunity to come clean and sort of treat you, Trey, as like my priest, and this was my confessional moment, so, I don't know if I gotta do some Hail Marys,

TREY GERRALD:

well, here's a wafer and we got some holy wine.

TREY GERRALD:

I hear you.

TREY GERRALD:

Flies are annoying.

TREY GERRALD:

I mean, shoo fly, don't bother me.

TREY GERRALD:

It's a saying.

CHELSEY DONN:

right?

CHELSEY DONN:

Exactly, and then that, like, bzzz, when they get close to you, ugh,

TREY GERRALD:

And when they like land on you, apparently they shit on you when they land on you.

CHELSEY DONN:

they shit whenever they land, uh uh, no, thank you, anyway, bye bye.

CHELSEY DONN:

I

TREY GERRALD:

complaint.

CHELSEY DONN:

thank you, thank you, thank

TREY GERRALD:

I hear

CHELSEY DONN:

but I do think it's time that we jump into some online reviews, hear a little bit of complaints from somebody else, so Trey, are you ready?

TREY GERRALD:

I am so ready.

Voiceover:

Review That Review,

CHELSEY DONN:

As you know, we are your trusty review queens, we bring in reviews from the internet that we feel need to be inspected,

TREY GERRALD:

We read you a review.

TREY GERRALD:

We break it down and rate the impact of the review on a scale from zero to five crowns.

TREY GERRALD:

It's a very regal process that we call.

Voiceover:

That Kvetch,

CHELSEY DONN:

that's right, and Trey, it is your turn this week, Diva, what have you brought in for us?

TREY GERRALD:

Today, I'm going to be sharing a Amazon review.

TREY GERRALD:

For a product that I know very little about.

TREY GERRALD:

So, I have an inkling that you may not know that much either.

CHELSEY DONN:

Oh, awesome.

TREY GERRALD:

So, we're gonna be like, the blind leading the blind here.

TREY GERRALD:

But, I don't know, you might surprise me, maybe Isler is someone who partakes and you're gonna have some experience, but here we go.

TREY GERRALD:

Today, we are going to rate and review a two star Amazon review for the PS5.

CHELSEY DONN:

Okay.

CHELSEY DONN:

The PlayStation

TREY GERRALD:

Okay, good, so you know what PS5

CHELSEY DONN:

I do.

CHELSEY DONN:

I mean, I actually am a big fan of PlayStation.

CHELSEY DONN:

I had one in college.

CHELSEY DONN:

It was actually, I think, a PS2.

TREY GERRALD:

I might have had a

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah, and my favorite thing about it was that I had this karaoke Game, not to trigger you Trey, but it was, it was, I think it was called karaoke revolution by the same people that did dance, dance revolution,

TREY GERRALD:

really take off the same way, huh?

CHELSEY DONN:

right?

CHELSEY DONN:

Listen, in my college dorm, it was like all the jam, like I feel like I made a lot of friends in college because I Had a PlayStation, I had this karaoke game, and it was like you had to stay on the right notes.

CHELSEY DONN:

You know, like to get more point.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah.

CHELSEY DONN:

And it was really, really fun.

CHELSEY DONN:

And so I do like, I love PlayStation.

CHELSEY DONN:

So I'm super curious to hear what's, what's wrong with the fifth generation.

TREY GERRALD:

Well, so, I don't know anything.

TREY GERRALD:

So here we go.

TREY GERRALD:

I did have a PlayStation growing up, right?

TREY GERRALD:

And I had like a Sega Genesis, and of course, Nintendo, Super Nintendo.

TREY GERRALD:

But this is the number one most Googled Amazon product.

TREY GERRALD:

Which is why I thought it would be interesting.

TREY GERRALD:

This is the PlayStation 5 console, parentheses, PS5, by Sony,

CHELSEY DONN:

This is the number one most reviewed product?

TREY GERRALD:

number one Googled Amazon product.

CHELSEY DONN:

Or

TREY GERRALD:

Whatever that

CHELSEY DONN:

googled?

CHELSEY DONN:

Still.

CHELSEY DONN:

That's crazy.

CHELSEY DONN:

Okay.

TREY GERRALD:

So this is two stars and it's written by someone with an interesting username.

TREY GERRALD:

So all caps Chewy Oxy iq, so it's spelled C H U Y

CHELSEY DONN:

I spelled it wrong already.

CHELSEY DONN:

C H U Y

TREY GERRALD:

O X I C U.

CHELSEY DONN:

C U.

CHELSEY DONN:

Oh my.

TREY GERRALD:

Oh my,

CHELSEY DONN:

Oh my god.

CHELSEY DONN:

Can we just call them Chewy?

TREY GERRALD:

well, I'll call them Chewy, but this is, this is a foreshadowing of a lot of all caps.

CHELSEY DONN:

Oh

TREY GERRALD:

Phrasings that we're not going to understand maybe.

TREY GERRALD:

So here we go, buckling.

CHELSEY DONN:

Okay.

CHELSEY DONN:

All right.

TREY GERRALD:

So Chewy's subject is compared to my one terabyte PS4 Pro console,

CHELSEY DONN:

Okay.

TREY GERRALD:

purchase, and this

TREY GERRALD:

was.

CHELSEY DONN:

to my one terabyte, what?

TREY GERRALD:

PS4 Pro

CHELSEY DONN:

PS4 Pro.

TREY GERRALD:

console.

TREY GERRALD:

And this was written on March 22nd of 2023, it is verified.

TREY GERRALD:

And just so you know, the style is console.

CHELSEY DONN:

Okay.

CHELSEY DONN:

Good to know.

TREY GERRALD:

Here we go.

CHELSEY DONN:

Because it's probably like console with remote console with

TREY GERRALD:

I don't know, it's like that doll that was style Jesus, like, understand that the Jesus doll, the

CHELSEY DONN:

oh my god, hilarious,

TREY GERRALD:

understand that the console is style

CHELSEY DONN:

the console,

TREY GERRALD:

Here we go.

CHELSEY DONN:

love it,

TREY GERRALD:

The PS5 is larger and bulkier.

TREY GERRALD:

It doesn't just sit.

TREY GERRALD:

Unassumingly, the unit looks quite ungraceful set up in the horizontal position, kind of like a beached orca with a collapsed lung.

CHELSEY DONN:

oh my god, Trey, okay,

TREY GERRALD:

Unlike the discreet black PS4 Pro, the PS5 screams, quote, Hey, look at me, I'm over here.

TREY GERRALD:

End quote.

TREY GERRALD:

Comma, parenthesis.

TREY GERRALD:

Different color covers are available for a small fee.

TREY GERRALD:

It takes a while to get used to the new controller layout.

TREY GERRALD:

Parenthesis, the feel and position of the PS button is different.

CHELSEY DONN:

hmm,

TREY GERRALD:

The PS button is higher and you have to move your thumb up and over the controller audio off button rather than a quick sideward motion with the thumb.

TREY GERRALD:

What's up with that?

TREY GERRALD:

There are a lot of ads and circus like activity going on in the background of the PS5 OS.

TREY GERRALD:

The PS4 Pro minds its own business.

TREY GERRALD:

The controller L2 R2 triggers are stiffer and have more resistance.

TREY GERRALD:

I'm still not sure if that helps.

TREY GERRALD:

Perhaps some games use it for variable resistance.

TREY GERRALD:

Who knows?

TREY GERRALD:

So far, the triggers are slower when you really want to rag on the controller.

TREY GERRALD:

Parentheses compare to a CAPS new PS4 Pro controller.

TREY GERRALD:

End parentheses.

TREY GERRALD:

Perhaps it will break him.

TREY GERRALD:

Graphics, with a 120Hz screen, and a full PS5 game, dot dot dot.

TREY GERRALD:

Outstanding!

TREY GERRALD:

A noticeable step up from the PS4 Pro, that was using the same screen.

TREY GERRALD:

The speed of the PS5 doesn't stomp.

TREY GERRALD:

On the PS4 Pro, but it's still there, a speed increase, but there is a more noticeable difference in the better graphics.

TREY GERRALD:

The PS5 has less storage.

TREY GERRALD:

I don't quite get that one.

TREY GERRALD:

I picked up a Kiwi Home snap on cooling fan for the back to ensure cooling.

TREY GERRALD:

It seems to work well and has a blue light to show it's operating, and it has a good airflow.

TREY GERRALD:

I never notice any fan noise, parentheses.

TREY GERRALD:

Who would with headphones on?

TREY GERRALD:

Okay, it's in my nature to critique.

TREY GERRALD:

The PS5 beats out the PS4 Pro, hands down, graphically, with marginally better performance.

TREY GERRALD:

I was chomping at the bit, so who cares.

TREY GERRALD:

The PS5 is something I can live with, but in fairness, life was just fine with the PS4 Pro.

TREY GERRALD:

I gave the PS5 four stars because I had to take the time to write this review.

TREY GERRALD:

Parentheses, stinker, aren't I?

TREY GERRALD:

Rats!

TREY GERRALD:

It just started whining about something.

TREY GERRALD:

I better go check its diapers.

CHELSEY DONN:

oh god,

TREY GERRALD:

Enter, enter, dot, dot.

TREY GERRALD:

After a couple of weeks, the operating system on the PS5 is for the birds.

TREY GERRALD:

There is no way to organize the homepage if you want to change it.

TREY GERRALD:

The ads and stuff and all the hype on the screen are getting tiresome.

TREY GERRALD:

I drop it to two stars.

TREY GERRALD:

I don't like being told how to organize my games.

TREY GERRALD:

Wise up, Sony!

TREY GERRALD:

The PS5 is gimmicky.

TREY GERRALD:

To top it all off, you cannot save game data, parenthesis, backup saved games, to a USB drive.

TREY GERRALD:

You have to have a paid subscription.

TREY GERRALD:

To back up your data to the Sony servers, There is no way to back up data for PS5 games without paying, How's that for big business greed?

TREY GERRALD:

They got you where it hurts, They have turned the PS5 into some kind of social media, ad streaming, do everything platform, dot dot dot, yuck, But, if you try and forgive the nonsense, and get the game going, now that.

TREY GERRALD:

It's top notch.

CHELSEY DONN:

Oy vey,

TREY GERRALD:

This is like a whole subculture, huh?

CHELSEY DONN:

whole thing.

CHELSEY DONN:

Alright, so this is definitely a subculture for which Trey and I don't belong,

TREY GERRALD:

Okay, so, alright.

TREY GERRALD:

Mm

CHELSEY DONN:

I get it.

CHELSEY DONN:

I get it.

TREY GERRALD:

I get it too.

CHELSEY DONN:

this, what we're dealing with here is, it's almost like the iPhone, right, like when the, when you have the old iPhone and then the new iPhone comes out and

TREY GERRALD:

chomping at the

CHELSEY DONN:

cameras and the whatever, you're chomping at the bit.

CHELSEY DONN:

Now, if you did that, And all of a sudden there was a lot of problems with this new phone that seemed like it was coming in fancy packages.

CHELSEY DONN:

I could understand, I would be upset.

TREY GERRALD:

Me too.

CHELSEY DONN:

So I think I'm going to like sort of wrap my head around it that way to understand the emotion.

CHELSEY DONN:

Behind Chewy's review, because clearly this is an emotional experience.

CHELSEY DONN:

My question, beyond the saving thing, and maybe if that's why, like, why wouldn't you, like, presumably you didn't throw away the PS4, or did you?

CHELSEY DONN:

Like, why wouldn't you then just go back to the PS4, return the product?

CHELSEY DONN:

It sounds like one of those things where it's like, we both want to have the new version, but we also still want to be able to complain about it.

TREY GERRALD:

and that is a question here.

TREY GERRALD:

The PS5 currently is 499.

TREY GERRALD:

So that's like a big purchase, you

CHELSEY DONN:

Investment, yeah.

CHELSEY DONN:

Mm

TREY GERRALD:

And my question is, like, can you still access the same like Why don't you just stick with the four, I guess is the question.

CHELSEY DONN:

That is the question.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like, is it like, are there games you can play on the 5 that you can't play on the 4?

CHELSEY DONN:

I don't think so.

CHELSEY DONN:

I don't know.

CHELSEY DONN:

I could be wrong.

TREY GERRALD:

You know what's occurring to me as well, like I understand, Cause I know from my nephew, it is like this whole, Is Microsoft and Sony the same, or are they competitors?

TREY GERRALD:

What's Microsoft?

TREY GERRALD:

What's their game console?

CHELSEY DONN:

they're competitors.

CHELSEY DONN:

Microsoft.

CHELSEY DONN:

Is it Microsoft Wii?

CHELSEY DONN:

Is it Wii?

TREY GERRALD:

box, the game boy, no, not the game.

TREY GERRALD:

The wheat?

TREY GERRALD:

No, I don't know, whatever these consoles are, like, I know that now they really have evolved where it's like, you have headsets and you're like talking with live people and it's like a whole thing.

CHELSEY DONN:

that Stitcher or whatever it is.

TREY GERRALD:

Yes.

TREY GERRALD:

And it does occur to me all of the like, minute, like, mechanical, stuff that Chewy is going into.

TREY GERRALD:

It feels to me like this is a YouTube review.

TREY GERRALD:

It's like this is a culture and like they're all doing the thing.

TREY GERRALD:

But if you're spent, my question is if you're spending that much energy, like why would you not want the paid subscription?

TREY GERRALD:

But I recognize the shift there is really upsetting because you're used to not having to pay a subscription.

TREY GERRALD:

So when they introduce it, you're pissed.

TREY GERRALD:

But

CHELSEY DONN:

I mean, I think it's the lack of autonomy and with that, that like makes people, cause I, I would imagine like some people might be like, Oh, great.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like I can just upload it to the cloud and not have to have an external drive or whatever, like awesome.

CHELSEY DONN:

But I think that there are people that are a little bit more old school.

CHELSEY DONN:

Maybe they want to have their own drive or maybe they just want to be able to store that information differently.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah.

CHELSEY DONN:

I think it's hard when you take away that autonomy, when you, yeah, when you take away someone's ability to do it another way, like why, like why wouldn't you just put a USB port on there, why wouldn't, like why wouldn't you make it so that someone could do that, unless you really were just trying to finagle everybody out of money that you know is gonna want to have these tapes,

TREY GERRALD:

Especially when they used to be free.

TREY GERRALD:

I mean, my big question here overall is like, and I think I know the answer, but is it fair to directly be comparing this to the older version of the product?

TREY GERRALD:

Is that fair?

TREY GERRALD:

I think, I think it's fair as well, but the amount of times that Chewy mentions PS4 Pro is like insane.

TREY GERRALD:

I mean, it's like, it's just so...

CHELSEY DONN:

It just makes me feel like take them back like it's like you're like dating it's like a girl you're dating or something like that and you're like I broke up with my girlfriend and then like I got another girlfriend and she was like not good and now I really want my old girlfriend back it's like okay well then just you know leave the relationship that you're in and and you Beg for your, your ex-girlfriend's forgiveness.

TREY GERRALD:

I but I think your analogy of the iPhone is really astute and like exactly the same because it is sort of like, okay, they've made all these, they've made these tweaks and I just paid a thousand dollars, like there is like cred, street cred to having the new version, right?

CHELSEY DONN:

right.

CHELSEY DONN:

That's what I think it is.

CHELSEY DONN:

I do think it's like it's the street cred, but are we warning people against buying this?

CHELSEY DONN:

Are we saying like, if you're sitting pretty with your PSS four, with the one terabyte, maybe don't rush on getting the fight.

CHELSEY DONN:

Maybe wait till the six.

CHELSEY DONN:

Is that the audience that's reading this review?

TREY GERRALD:

Or the PSS five Pro, like, I guess is that like the next

CHELSEY DONN:

maybe that's the next one.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah,

TREY GERRALD:

level?

CHELSEY DONN:

right.

CHELSEY DONN:

Exactly.

TREY GERRALD:

But then my real question here is sort of like, I think the major complaint is like there's these random subtle differences in the controller, et cetera, et cetera.

TREY GERRALD:

Like now the console is, is like sitting up straight or a horizontal.

TREY GERRALD:

What something is different about the way it sits.

TREY GERRALD:

And then they also are saying like, the operating system has all this annoying nonsense going on in the last

TREY GERRALD:

sentence is

CHELSEY DONN:

seems a little

TREY GERRALD:

when you ignore it, The gaming is top notch, but wouldn't the gaming be exactly the same as before?

TREY GERRALD:

So

CHELSEY DONN:

I do.

CHELSEY DONN:

I think it's like a speed bump, right?

CHELSEY DONN:

it's

TREY GERRALD:

what it seems like

CHELSEY DONN:

I get the gaming experience and the gaming experience is amazing and the picture is amazing and getting there is great but now I have to Travel the speed bump of having an ad, which I can understand how that would be annoying for a product that you like buy and pay for.

CHELSEY DONN:

I mean, I know that like gaming has changed tremendously, but definitely like back in the day when I, we had like Nintendo, Nintendo 64, like when we were doing that, like, I think that would be bizarre to like, I just paid all this money for a product and now I have to see ads.

TREY GERRALD:

Well, that's

CHELSEY DONN:

like Sega, like that one when the thing comes up or whatever, right?

CHELSEY DONN:

I don't know.

TREY GERRALD:

So then here's a question.

TREY GERRALD:

When you buy a subscription, do you no longer receive ads?

TREY GERRALD:

Like when you buy a YouTube premium?

CHELSEY DONN:

When you buy, well, that's the thing is like, we're kind of in a different world now, right?

CHELSEY DONN:

Where it's like, if you're going to pay the base price, well, you're going to get ads.

CHELSEY DONN:

If you're going to pay for YouTube premium, then you're not going to have ads.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like you, it's a pay to play

TREY GERRALD:

Well, that's, but no, but do you know that for sure?

TREY GERRALD:

Is that true?

TREY GERRALD:

Like,

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah.

TREY GERRALD:

Chewy seeing these ads because they just bought the

CHELSEY DONN:

Oh, no.

CHELSEY DONN:

I don't know that that's true in this case.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like, I don't know if Chewy has a way out.

CHELSEY DONN:

I don't Chewy.

CHELSEY DONN:

It didn't get into specifics of that.

CHELSEY DONN:

I don't know.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like, maybe if I pay for this cloud service, does that mean that I don't have to see ads?

CHELSEY DONN:

I don't

TREY GERRALD:

That's my question.

CHELSEY DONN:

that this is a good thing.

CHELSEY DONN:

Everybody has to deal with this, which I do agree is annoying.

TREY GERRALD:

And then if we're talking about the specifics of this operating system being gimmicky, Is it like iPhones, where there's gonna be 900 updates to the operating

TREY GERRALD:

system,

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah, I don't

TREY GERRALD:

as well just buy PlayStation 5 and wait for the update,

CHELSEY DONN:

to come?

CHELSEY DONN:

I don't know.

CHELSEY DONN:

I mean, I would imagine in this day and age, there probably are, like, remote updates that one can do.

CHELSEY DONN:

I mean, you can do that on your television.

CHELSEY DONN:

So, I would think that they would have updates and maybe they will fix it.

CHELSEY DONN:

I don't know when this product came out versus when Chewy wrote the first review versus when Chewy wrote the follow up review.

CHELSEY DONN:

I mean, it does really stand out to me that these are Passionate people who use these products a lot and I think that these changes that feel so jarring, Chewy, are really just indicative of the amount of time that was spent on the four version of this, right?

CHELSEY DONN:

Like, again, no shade, but we know that people that play video games have a Reputation of being on there all day, right?

CHELSEY DONN:

Like just hours and hours and hours and hours.

CHELSEY DONN:

So if you're spending that amount of time on this device, surely you're going to get used to riding the bicycle in a certain way.

CHELSEY DONN:

And if all of a sudden they put the wheel on the side, you're going to be like, what the hell?

CHELSEY DONN:

Like

TREY GERRALD:

Exactly.

CHELSEY DONN:

got to be a learning curve here.

CHELSEY DONN:

So that's why I'm wondering.

CHELSEY DONN:

Is it worth the going from the four to the two?

CHELSEY DONN:

Is that justified?

TREY GERRALD:

The 4 to the 2?

TREY GERRALD:

What?

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah, because Chewy originally made this a

TREY GERRALD:

Oh, the stars!

TREY GERRALD:

Oh, I thought you were talking about the

CHELSEY DONN:

Oh, sorry.

TREY GERRALD:

I was like, what?

CHELSEY DONN:

yeah.

CHELSEY DONN:

No, no, like, is it justified for Chewy to demote two stars away from this based on the complaints?

TREY GERRALD:

I mean, I feel like dropping from 4 to 2 after realizing you can't save your games?

TREY GERRALD:

I mean, that's pretty, that's a huge change to the structure.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah,

TREY GERRALD:

I mean,

CHELSEY DONN:

organizing of the back

TREY GERRALD:

the games?

TREY GERRALD:

Yeah.

CHELSEY DONN:

like how your games are listed That's kind of annoying.

TREY GERRALD:

I think so too.

CHELSEY DONN:

I do agree with you though I feel like a lot of this probably could be changed with an upgrade like a software upgrade,

TREY GERRALD:

right, but if Sony has decided that they're gonna become a subscription company to be making like monthly money Like you're not there's no that's done.

TREY GERRALD:

Like if you want PlayStation, that's they've decided the change, like you're not gonna win.

CHELSEY DONN:

You're not winning and you're not giving it up like that's what's interesting to me is like this is a two star review for a product that we're still gonna use every damn day,

TREY GERRALD:

Correct.

CHELSEY DONN:

is like it's there's is a rarity to that right like Normally you hate a product or there's things that bother you about a product or you you like the old version better You just would no longer use it.

CHELSEY DONN:

You would just go back to using the old version.

CHELSEY DONN:

So it's, it's very interesting to me to have a two star review to be like, I hate this thing.

CHELSEY DONN:

I'm still going to use it every day.

CHELSEY DONN:

And it looks beautiful.

CHELSEY DONN:

Two stars.

TREY GERRALD:

Right.

CHELSEY DONN:

I don't

TREY GERRALD:

I mean, I, what's there for me is like, well, okay, I think the commonality stuff, like I'm imagining, like, I just sort of have to consider if I was in the demographic to be purchasing this and, but, but because of that, I do find Chewy to be pretty knowledgeable, like exceedingly knowledgeable, actually.

TREY GERRALD:

And I sort of hear.

TREY GERRALD:

their criticisms as as something that could be probably common like if you have to move your thumb in a different way like that actually seems really stupid and simple but i think it is like a big deal honestly like if you're just so routine

CHELSEY DONN:

Chewy is noticing, then probably other

TREY GERRALD:

other people are

CHELSEY DONN:

this too.

TREY GERRALD:

what do you think about chewy's random use of humor when they're like i'm a stinker aren't i and oh rats they got to change the diaper

CHELSEY DONN:

what was the, the sentence that had the beached orca with a collapsed lung or

TREY GERRALD:

Right up top, talk about animal cruelty.

TREY GERRALD:

It's ungraceful set up in the horizontal position, kind of like a beached orca with a collapsed lung.

TREY GERRALD:

What?

CHELSEY DONN:

Wow.

CHELSEY DONN:

That's an interesting, um, but that's gonna come up in a minute, which is like why I like, I heard that and I was like, what?

CHELSEY DONN:

But that's a little bit of a teaser.

CHELSEY DONN:

Anyway.

CHELSEY DONN:

I mean, I do think that the, the resistance in the, sorry, I know this is going back to the comment for a second, but I do think the resistance in the controller is probably like a benefit because I think people really wear it on their controllers and I bet you it will break in, break in.

CHELSEY DONN:

But in terms of the comedy, I definitely think that it's there, it's there.

CHELSEY DONN:

Maybe this like went over my head, but then I was like, Oh, I think this is the joke that they're making with a diaper thing, where they saying like rats, like, did they hear a noise on the console?

CHELSEY DONN:

And then they were like, better go tend to my console.

CHELSEY DONN:

Like it's a friggin newborn baby and I got to change its diaper.

CHELSEY DONN:

That's what they were saying.

CHELSEY DONN:

Right,

TREY GERRALD:

I think so.

TREY GERRALD:

Cause it says it just started whining,

CHELSEY DONN:

right.

CHELSEY DONN:

So it's like, as if the console is like in the background or something like that.

CHELSEY DONN:

Now I

TREY GERRALD:

right?

TREY GERRALD:

Like the fan kicked on or something.

CHELSEY DONN:

okay.

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah.

CHELSEY DONN:

And then also, what do we think about that cooling fan review in the middle?

TREY GERRALD:

Yeah, I was curious about that kiwi hem.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, I guess these things overheat and so you can also buy these cooling fans.

TREY GERRALD:

I mean, it's interesting that they like list

TREY GERRALD:

the brand name.

CHELSEY DONN:

They list the brain well, maybe that's caught maybe like people chair share trade secrets and that sort of comment I just thought it was a little bit weird that like we put another review and they're like it has a blue light and I Can't hear it while wearing headphones.

CHELSEY DONN:

I couldn't hear it.

CHELSEY DONN:

I know I'm at it like I don't know I think that definitely Chewy was trying to show us their personality at very least I do think they like, went for humor, yuck, you know, like, they just feel, how old do we think Chewy is?

TREY GERRALD:

it's a really good question.

TREY GERRALD:

I can't tell if they're like 17 or if they're like 47.

TREY GERRALD:

It's really hard for me to tell.

CHELSEY DONN:

it's like, either they're like, in high school, or they're like, 56 and a lazy boy.

CHELSEY DONN:

I don't know, it could go

TREY GERRALD:

I

TREY GERRALD:

know.

TREY GERRALD:

We don't

CHELSEY DONN:

We don't know they could be anything truthfully and also I guess it's indicative of maybe it doesn't really matter in this world like you could be any age and you could be a gamer were we humored by this I mean do we feel

TREY GERRALD:

I mean the stinker and the rats and the diaper and all that.

TREY GERRALD:

I mean, I don't know, I kind of like Chewy.

TREY GERRALD:

Like, I feel like I can

CHELSEY DONN:

yeah I mean I don't I think it is interesting that we made the switch from the four to the two but other than that I feel like the impact is pretty strong here

TREY GERRALD:

Yeah.

CHELSEY DONN:

see Chewie connecting with his chosen audience for sure all right should we go into the crowning for Chewie?

TREY GERRALD:

Yeah, I think I can crown Chewy.

TREY GERRALD:

Let's do it.

TREY GERRALD:

All right, so Chelsey and I each have our own set of zero to five crown cards.

TREY GERRALD:

In an effort to be fair and not influenced by one another, we will simultaneously reveal our rating.

Voiceover:

The Queens Are Tabulating, Total Score,

CHELSEY DONN:

Okay, interesting.

CHELSEY DONN:

I was really between three and a half and four, but I ended up landing on three and a half, Trey landed on four and a half.

CHELSEY DONN:

I don't know, there's something about the like, switcheroo from the four to two that bothers me.

CHELSEY DONN:

I feel like if it went from a four to three, that would, that would sit better with me, but I think that there's a humongous difference in my mind between a four and a two star.

CHELSEY DONN:

I think that this is more of a three star review if I'm being completely honest because we're still using the product, we really enjoy the visual element of it, there's a lot of things that we like about it and I understand that feeling of like, ooh, I miss my old comfy PS4 Plus or whatever it is, but.

CHELSEY DONN:

I don't know.

CHELSEY DONN:

I just think that two is felt a little bit harsh when all the parts were added together.

CHELSEY DONN:

But I think there's a lot of queenly information here.

CHELSEY DONN:

So I still think it's worth a three and a half.

CHELSEY DONN:

Chewy wrote a decent review.

CHELSEY DONN:

But it's a three and a half crown review for me.

CHELSEY DONN:

Why did you decide to go almost a review queen and go to four and a half?

TREY GERRALD:

I mean, I don't know anything about any of this, and the gripes that Chewy ultimately has, I feel like don't really have that much of an impact on me if I'm coming from nothing, and ultimately, as we were saying, I feel like if Sony has decided to be a subscription company, you can't get around that, so if you wanna save your data, you gotta get the subscription, and it's an unfortunate transition to live through,

CHELSEY DONN:

Right.

TREY GERRALD:

I, I think spelling grammar is great.

TREY GERRALD:

I, I really find Chewy to be a very valuable, knowledgeable writer and narrator for me.

TREY GERRALD:

Common Fluky, I mean, for me specifically, it's, some of it is irrelevant, but I'm not hearing that I shouldn't buy the product.

TREY GERRALD:

I'm just hearing that it's different than the past product, and...

TREY GERRALD:

Even as we've said, like, Chewy is continuing to use the product instead of return it and stick with the old, so therefore, like, ultimately, like, it's, it is what it is, you know?

TREY GERRALD:

So,

CHELSEY DONN:

you still gave Chewy a four and a half, so it must have been an impactful review.

TREY GERRALD:

cause I sort of feel like, sure, like, I mean, we're, we're gonna be gaming and, like, the ads are gonna be annoying in the background,

CHELSEY DONN:

You have, you're, you're, at least you're armed with all this info now.

TREY GERRALD:

exactly, right?

CHELSEY DONN:

Okay, that's

TREY GERRALD:

And I, I trust their point of view, cause they sound kind of like an expert, so, I

CHELSEY DONN:

Okay, I love it.

CHELSEY DONN:

Great review, Trey.

TREY GERRALD:

mean, interesting, do you think you're gonna go buy a PS5?

CHELSEY DONN:

Probably not.

CHELSEY DONN:

Um, but again, I love it.

CHELSEY DONN:

I remember loving PlayStation in college and I get it.

CHELSEY DONN:

It's like, it's not my jam because I have so many new hobbies now, including this podcast and many other things.

CHELSEY DONN:

So I don't, I can't see myself opening up a large window of time to become a gamer.

CHELSEY DONN:

I don't know that I could add that to the plate, but I get it and I like it.

CHELSEY DONN:

And I think that gaming products is Especially on Amazon.

CHELSEY DONN:

Those are like the highest sellers, most popular.

CHELSEY DONN:

So there is a huge population out there.

CHELSEY DONN:

Do love games, and I hope some of our listeners are a part of that population and you can give us a call and let us know.

CHELSEY DONN:

What do you think of Chewy 1 8 5 0 review?

CHELSEY DONN:

Zero.

CHELSEY DONN:

If you are someone that's a little bit more in this world, we would love to hear from you.

TREY GERRALD:

yeah, for sure.

TREY GERRALD:

I, there was a moment in the lockdown when I thought, maybe I should

CHELSEY DONN:

Become a gamer.

TREY GERRALD:

and then I didn't.

TREY GERRALD:

Instead, I created this podcast

CHELSEY DONN:

right.

CHELSEY DONN:

I'm so glad that you made that decision.

TREY GERRALD:

too.

TREY GERRALD:

Well, in the spirit of gladness for our unity as a team, Chelsey, we have reached the most regal portion of today's episode.

TREY GERRALD:

Chelsey, who are you going to induct today for?

Voiceover:

My Royal Highness.

CHELSEY DONN:

Well, speaking of queens and things that are, you know, worthy of queenly, queenly, uh, praise.

CHELSEY DONN:

There we go.

CHELSEY DONN:

That was really smooth.

CHELSEY DONN:

I want to nominate today, one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles.

CHELSEY DONN:

It's called Queen Violet.

TREY GERRALD:

Oh,

CHELSEY DONN:

First of all, the food is amazing.

CHELSEY DONN:

That's number one, which you know is, is really the most important thing.

CHELSEY DONN:

But also the delivery, which I've done from them multiple times.

CHELSEY DONN:

They're just very good and very on top of it, especially with the allergies.

CHELSEY DONN:

I have a shellfish allergy, so I have to be really careful when I order Asian food and they have a dish there that literally shrimp Pad Thai.

CHELSEY DONN:

And I called them on the phone and I was like is there any way if I go on the app and I put in like bold letters like no shrimp can you do chicken instead that you'll do it and they're like yes of course we'll do it just like put it in the notes and I always call again because I'm paranoid because it's an allergy but they're always the kindest on the phone and they send me everything exactly the way that I want it And the last time I ordered from them, I actually ordered scallion pancakes and the sauce that came with the scallion pancakes, I guess had shellfish in it.

CHELSEY DONN:

So they put a receipt around the sauce and they wrote this sauce has shellfish in it.

CHELSEY DONN:

And then they gave me a second sauce.

CHELSEY DONN:

They're like, this sauce is a dipping sauce for their spring rolls or something like that.

CHELSEY DONN:

But they're like, this one doesn't.

CHELSEY DONN:

And I just thought, what a queenly amazing move that you Gave me the product exactly as I wanted, even though it wasn't on the menu and it wasn't like even a choice to change it.

CHELSEY DONN:

But not only did you make the change, you also saved me from eating a sauce that might've killed me.

CHELSEY DONN:

And I just think that there aren't that many restaurants that will go the extra mile.

CHELSEY DONN:

And I thought, what Queens?

CHELSEY DONN:

I want to take this opportunity to nominate.

CHELSEY DONN:

Queen Violet, even though I'm like, everyone's gonna go now, right?

CHELSEY DONN:

And I'm not gonna be able to get a reservation, but it's so good.

CHELSEY DONN:

They have an amazing brunch as well.

CHELSEY DONN:

They have delicious drinks.

CHELSEY DONN:

So it's a great experience to go dine in or out.

CHELSEY DONN:

So much gratitude for you.

CHELSEY DONN:

Thank you so much, Queen Violet.

CHELSEY DONN:

You are my Royal Highness.

TREY GERRALD:

Yeah, I concur, and I also love that name.

TREY GERRALD:

Good job.

TREY GERRALD:

Good job, Queen Violet.

TREY GERRALD:

Good, good catch on the, the shellfish allergy, because that, that could be

CHELSEY DONN:

Yeah, we don't need any, we don't need any queens going down on Queen Violet's account, you know.

TREY GERRALD:

Well, that's it, Queen.

TREY GERRALD:

We did it.

TREY GERRALD:

That is another round on the R U A R Q Ferris Wheel of Give Me Those Fly Zappers.

CHELSEY DONN:

Oh my god.

CHELSEY DONN:

I completely forgot about that for a second.

CHELSEY DONN:

Thank you for joining us today.

CHELSEY DONN:

If you like what you heard, please tell a friend.

TREY GERRALD:

If you didn't like what you heard, please tell an enemy.

CHELSEY DONN:

Okay, so Trey, as per usual, we're always just lining up like crazy.

CHELSEY DONN:

I don't know if you remember in your review you mentioned a beach orca that had a collapsed lung and This, this episode has been a little weird for the animals.

CHELSEY DONN:

We love animals.

CHELSEY DONN:

But anyway, this after show review is a two star Google review for.

CHELSEY DONN:

Exploding Whale Memorial Park

TREY GERRALD:

What?

CHELSEY DONN:

in Oregon, off the Oregon coast.

TREY GERRALD:

Okay, that's a weird name.

CHELSEY DONN:

know.

CHELSEY DONN:

Well, I'm gonna, we're gonna get into it in the after show.

CHELSEY DONN:

I have a whole history lesson for, for our Patreon members, but it's something.

TREY GERRALD:

All right.

TREY GERRALD:

Well, I'm just really curious.

TREY GERRALD:

I wonder why this was said.

TREY GERRALD:

This is so weird.

TREY GERRALD:

Everything about this, everything about this after show is so weird.

CHELSEY DONN:

Oh, me too.

CHELSEY DONN:

I wonder why that was said.

CHELSEY DONN:

Well,

TREY GERRALD:

Make sure you remember, Queens.

CHELSEY DONN:

the haters!

CHELSEY DONN:

You're a Queen Violet!

TREY GERRALD:

Gender non specific, Queen Violet, Violet, you're turning Violet, Violet,

CHELSEY DONN:

Good!

CHELSEY DONN:

FU

TREY GERRALD:

I...
